Introducing Lucia Bica: Our New Deputy Manager at Winton House

We are thrilled to welcome Lucia Bica to the Abbeyfield Maidenhead family as our dedicated Deputy Manager at Winton House. Lucia brings a wealth of compassion, commitment, and a genuine passion for caring for the elderly to our team.

Lucia’s journey to joining our team is driven by a deep-seated caring and committed nature. Inspired to work in the care industry, she saw Abbeyfield Maidenhead as the perfect opportunity to expand her knowledge and skills in providing exceptional care to our residents.

In her role as Deputy Manager, Lucia plays a crucial part in supporting our team and residents, ensuring a well-run, safe, and happy service for everyone at Winton House.  Lucia explains that “the most exciting aspect of my role is getting to know and provide support to individual team members so they can provide exceptional care to our residents”. She navigates any challenges with the support of the Home Manager and the friendly nature of the team here at Winton House.

Lucia officially became a valued member of our team on the 7th of February 2024, and we’re already grateful for the positive impact she’s making.

While it’s still early days, Lucia has been touched by the warmth and curiosity of our residents, making her feel welcomed and embraced by the Abbeyfield Maidenhead community.

Lucia appreciates the friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Abbeyfield Maidenhead, highlighting the relaxed nature of Winton House and the ample time and support given for her to familiarise herself with the role and the staff she’ll be supporting.

Lucia believes in maintaining honest and open communication with both staff and residents, fostering a positive and collaborative environment where everyone is valued equally. “I value everyone the same and recognise that we all need to positively work together to create a good service”, she commented.

Having just begun her journey with us, Lucia is eager to contribute to projects and initiatives that enhance the overall well-being of our residents.

To those considering a career in the care industry, Lucia recommends maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude, along with a commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement.

For those seeking a care home for themselves or a relative, Lucia assures that Winton House provides a safe environment where individuality is respected and where exceptional care is a top priority.

Outside of work, Lucia stays active by hitting the gym, going for walks, indulging in gardening, reading, and lifelong learning.  In addition to her caring role, Lucia holds a degree in Physiotherapy from Romania and is fluent in Spanish. A multitalented professional with a passion for learning and languages!

Join us in extending a warm welcome to Lucia as she embarks on this rewarding journey with Abbeyfield Maidenhead!
