Hello Nicholas House residents, families, and friends!
With the arrival of May, Nicholas House has been buzzing with activity, joy, and togetherness. We’re thrilled to share the highlights of our month with you. From exciting trips to delightful events right here at home, this month has been filled with sunshine and smiles.
Garden Adventures and Church Walkabouts: We kicked off the month with a refreshing trip to Dorney Garden Centre, where residents enjoyed the vibrant flowers, serene walking paths, and the opportunity to bring a touch of nature back to their rooms. The greenery and fresh air were truly invigorating! Our explorations didn’t stop there. We also embarked on a St Peter’s Church Walkabout, where we marveled at the beautiful architecture and soaked in the peaceful atmosphere. It was a wonderful outing that allowed us to connect with our community and each other.
Coffee, Ice Cream, and Good Company: Back at Nicholas House, we indulged in simple pleasures that brought immense joy. The warm weather also gave us the perfect excuse to enjoy some ice cream in the garden. With the sun shining down, it was the perfect treat to cool off and savour the season’s sweetness. The beautiful May weather, however short-lived, called for an outdoor celebration, and what better way to enjoy the sun than with a BBQ? The smell of delicious grilled food filled the air as residents gathered for a fun-filled afternoon. There were smiles all around as everyone enjoyed the food, games, and camaraderie.
Creative Expressions and Musical Moments: Our artistic side shone through in a lively arts & crafts session with Purple Robin. Residents let their creativity flow, producing beautiful works of art that now decorate our common areas. Entertainment was top-notch this month too, thanks to delightful performances by the Maideleles Band and The Entertainers. Their music and energy filled our hearts with joy and got us all tapping our feet and clapping along.
Mental Health Awareness Da: We proudly participated in Mental Health Awareness Day by wearing green. It was heartening to see everyone come together to show support and raise awareness. Our commitment to mental health is strong, and events like these remind us of the importance of taking care of ourselves and each other. We held a Raffle, Tea, and Cake afternoon at the same time that was a resounding success. The delectable cakes were a hit, and the raffle added a dash of excitement. Thanks to everyone’s participation and generosity, we raised £89.20.
Fun and Games: Our love for activities continued with a cake making session, where residents showcased their baking talents, creating mouthwatering treats for all to enjoy. Additionally, our jigsaw afternoon was a hit, bringing puzzle enthusiasts together to piece together beautiful pictures while enjoying each other’s company.
As we wrap up this edition of our newsletter, we want to express our gratitude for the sense of community and joy that makes Nicholas House so special. We look forward to more exciting adventures and cherished moments in the coming months.
Stay happy, stay connected, and here’s to more wonderful days ahead!
